Ledger® Live Wallet — Download, Login & Troubleshoot

A practical, up-to-date walkthrough for Ledger® Live Desktop & App users — install safely, fix login problems, and recover accounts.

What is Ledger® Live?

Ledger® Live is the official application that interfaces with Ledger® hardware wallets. It comes as Ledger® Live Desktop for Windows, macOS, and Linux, and as the Ledger® Live App for Android and iOS. Through it you can install device apps, add accounts, sign transactions, and monitor portfolio balances.

Ledger® Live Download & installation

Always verify the URL before downloading. Install the desktop application, open it, and follow the setup wizard. When connecting a Ledger® device, you'll be prompted to enter your device PIN on the hardware wallet — never type your recovery phrase into the app or a website.

Ledger® Live Login — how it works

Ledger® Live does not use a traditional username/password. "Login" means unlocking your hardware wallet with its PIN. The app pairs with your device to read public account data while all private keys remain on the hardware device.

Troubleshooting Ledger® login issues

  • If Ledger® Login not working, check the USB cable and port; swap cables and ports first.
  • Restart Ledger® Live Desktop or the Ledger® Live App and the device.
  • Update the device firmware via Ledger® Live (only from the official app) if available.
  • For mobile Bluetooth issues, ensure location and Bluetooth permissions are granted.
  • Temporarily disable VPNs or firewall rules that may block Ledger® Live communication.

Unable to login Ledger® / Error Connecting Ledger® Account

Common underlying causes include outdated Bridge software (desktop), stale caches, or blocked USB drivers. Reinstall Ledger® Live Desktop, and if prompted, reinstall Ledger® Bridge. Avoid browser-based wallet UIs if they ask for your recovery phrase — Ledger® Live Desktop is the safer route.

Ledger® Account Recovery & 2FA reset

Account recovery relies on your recovery phrase. If you lose access, restore the phrase on a new Ledger® device. Ledger® cannot reset or retrieve your phrase. Two-factor authentication is service-specific; Ledger® does not centrally manage 2FA for your exchange accounts — resetting 2FA must be done with the concerned service.

When Ledger® Live App is not working / Can't verify Ledger® Wallet

If the app shows verification errors, confirm the app version, device firmware and that the device displays the right app for the cryptocurrency you intend to use. If verification still fails, contact the Ledger® Help Center and provide non-sensitive logs (never share your recovery phrase).
